New from Second Nature: As part of our commitment to provide exclusive services to signatories of the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), Second Nature is working to deliver custom offerings designed by our staff working directly with partners to ensure the best interests of our higher education network are met. We aren’t limited by the categories identified below, and welcome any discussion that advances campus progress in the field. Please contact Michele Madia with ideas or proposals for collaboration.
Exclusive Events – Renewable Energy
Second Nature is offering invitation-only facilitated convenings to deepen the understanding of scaled renewables. Second Nature and our partners want to drive significant acceleration of renewable energy deployment, reduce customer acquisition costs, reduce renewable energy procurement costs for customers, and provide clear guidance on meeting their ACUPCC Commitments. These complimentary workshops will build understanding of and commitment to renewable energy strategies and implementation at scale.

The workshops will include: a primer on power purchase agreements, case studies from higher education, and information on how to manage GHG accounting associated with PPAs. These will help get your institution all the way to an executed renewable energy PPA..
Renewable Energy Solutions Workshop: August 3-4, 2105, Philadelphia, PA
This exclusive event will provide a leading edge, first-of-its kind opportunity to accelerate your campus efforts to meet ACUPCC GHG commitments in a sophisticated and cost-effective way. The one-day curriculum, designed in partnership with CustomerFirst Renewables, will help you explore your renewable power options, understand what they are worth and how to capture them, and develop a tailored game plan for implementation.
Exclusive Opportunity - Software Tools and Analysis
With our partners in the data analysis arena, we are helping determine and refine the value proposition of the their software for our signatories. Groups of signatory institutions are granted free access to decision support tools to track savings from energy efficiency projects, plan and visualize energy and carbon management strategies, and efficiently build capacity through the technology. In both cases, we are surveying participating institutions about the utility of the platform, providing feedback for the providers, and granting ACUPCC institutions discounts to software upgrades.
Climate Action Planning and Energy Modeling
Second Nature and Confluenc have partnered to offer Fovea:CAP™, a best in class tool for modeling, planning, and visualizing energy and carbon management strategies resulting in accelerated solutions. This limited pilot program provides access to the platform including: GHG inventory history and emissions forecast, abatement diagram creator, wedge diagram creator, solutions starter kit, and cost sensitivity analysis.
